Honest list.If these features matter to your clinic, rater8 is the right pick.
rater8 lists more than 100 integrations with electronic health records and practice management systems including Epic, athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, NextGen, and others. ExperClinic does not currently integrate with any EHR. Practices use CSV bulk import for patients and appointments. If real-time bidirectional sync is critical to your workflow, rater8 is the right pick.
rater8 distributes review requests across Google, Healthgrades, Vitals, WebMD, Facebook, and other healthcare directories. ExperClinic targets Google only. For practices where presence on Healthgrades or Vitals is important to patient acquisition (typical for primary care and certain specialties in the US), rater8 is the broader tool.
rater8's raVE Pro tier includes patient satisfaction surveys and Net Promoter Score tracking. ExperClinic does not ship a survey product. If formal patient satisfaction measurement is part of your reporting requirements, rater8 covers it.
rater8 generates AI-assisted draft responses to incoming reviews, which can save the practice owner time on the response queue. ExperClinic does not currently include AI response generation; responses are written by your team.
rater8 is built for organizations with dozens to hundreds of physicians, dedicated customer success managers, quarterly business reviews, and benchmarking against peer practices. ExperClinic's Enterprise tier supports multi-location groups but is sized for SMB to mid-market clinics, not large health systems.
rater8 holds SOC 2 Type II certification. ExperClinic does not. For procurement teams that require SOC 2 documentation as a hard gate, rater8 clears the bar today; ExperClinic does not.
Key differences that matter for clinics, especially Canadian and small-to-mid practices.
Every patient receives the same SMS with the same two options after every visit: leave a public Google review or send private feedback to the practice. The patient chooses. ExperClinic never routes, filters, or decides based on expected sentiment. rater8's product description states that rather than letting patients choose where to leave a review, their algorithm directs them to the sites that need the most attention. This is a meaningful product philosophy difference.
$129, $249, or $429 CAD monthly. The price does not scale with how many practitioners you have. A 10-practitioner clinic pays the same as a solo practitioner at any given tier. rater8 charges $99 USD per physician per month at the entry tier (monthly billing); the same 10-practitioner clinic pays $990 USD per month for raVE Lite alone.
Pick "general dentistry" and ExperClinic auto-applies 60-minute appointment defaults, 180-day reactivation, both reminders on, "Dr. / DDS" credentials. Pick "naturopathy" and you get 60-minute appointments, 90-day reactivation, "Dr. / ND" credentials. rater8 is built primarily for medical practice and physician groups, not the broader healthcare and wellness range.
For mental health, fertility, addiction counselling, oncology, EMDR, and 23 other sensitive specialties (28 in total), ExperClinic uses a context-free SMS template that omits the doctor's name and any clinical reference. A patient's locked phone screen never publishes that they see a therapist or fertility specialist. rater8 does not ship an equivalent feature.
ExperClinic is built in Ontario, Canada. PIPEDA compliance and Quebec Law 25 considerations are baseline, not add-ons. rater8 is US-built and US-focused. Canadian clinics often face procurement and privacy review hurdles with US-only vendors that ExperClinic clears by default.
